These terms apply when you use Mosaic. They’re short because Mosaic is simple: it runs on your device, and your secrets stay yours.
Using Mosaic
By downloading or using Mosaic, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app. You may use Mosaic for your own personal, lawful purposes.
Your secrets, your responsibility
Mosaic has no servers and no account, so we can’t see, restore or recover your secrets. It follows that:
- You are responsible for choosing people you trust to hold your shares.
- You need at least as many shares as your threshold to recover a secret. If too many shares are lost, deleted or can’t be reached, the secret can’t be recovered, by you or by us.
- Keep a copy of anything critical, such as a wallet recovery phrase, until you have checked that you can recover it from its shares.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Mosaic to break the law, to infringe anyone else’s rights, or to try to reverse-engineer, disrupt or misuse the app, except where applicable law allows it.
Intellectual property
Mosaic’s app, name, design and website belong to us and our licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app. They don’t transfer any ownership. Your content is yours, and we claim no rights to it.
App stores
If you got Mosaic from an app store, that store’s terms also apply. Where they conflict with these terms about the store itself, its terms take priority. The app store isn’t responsible for Mosaic or for supporting it.
No warranty
Mosaic is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to make it reliable and secure, but we can’t promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will suit every purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss. That includes loss of data or funds caused by lost shares, lost devices or shares handed to the wrong people. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Mosaic after an update, you accept the new terms. You can stop using Mosaic at any time by deleting the app.
